About Me

I’m Melissa, but everyone has called me Missy since the 1st grade when there were 3 Melissas in our class.  Being a people pleaser, when the teacher asked for a volunteer to be called Missy, I raised my hand.  So there you go. I also answer to mom, mom, mom, mom, mom because, well, kids.

Married to Kevin for 18 years.  We met & were friends in college and worked at Wal-Mart.  He is an amazing husband and father. He is a L-E-A-D-E-R through & through. He enjoys talking to people & helping them be the best versions of themselves. He likes leading. I prefer to stand in the corner & hope I don’t have to talk to anyone. So we balance each other & make a pretty awesome team. He does write a great leadership blog you can check it out here.

Now, when I get to know you, you will find that I can talk loud & be very sarcastic.  It just takes me awhile to get to that point.

The Kids, well they are great, normal kids. Some of the pickiest eaters you will find, but no one is perfect.

Landon (AKA-Lando, Landoleon Dynamite, DeLandequan) is a new teen. He’s also 75% like me. Hard headed, funny & sarcastic. He’s artistic & could care less about school. Probably because it doesn’t come easy for him. Or maybe because he would rather be doing anything else except being at school.  He’s a future blacksmith & lover of the movie Napoleon Dynamite.

Savannah (AKA-Savvy, LaSavaniqua) is, seriously, the kindest, sweetest girl around. She LOVES life (except when her brother is mean). She LOVES school and learning. It all comes easy for her–she gets that from me :).  I hope the coming years leave her kind nature & love of learning intact. We are closing in on Middle School years quicker than I would like.

Oh goodness, we also have a dog, Layla. She’s my shadow, even though I’m the last of the 4 of us who wanted a dog. She’s Great Dane & Mastiff mix. Do you know what that means? SHE’S GIANT and thinks she’s a lap dog.
